Why should I take this course?

U.S. universities operate fundamentally differently from other educational systems worldwide, and applying with the wrong mindset wastes time and hurts your admission chances. This course reveals how US universities actually select students and what they're looking for, while helping you develop the self-knowledge to identify institutions where you'll genuinely thrive.

How Should I Pace Myself? |

Year 10–11: Take your time, dip in over weeks or months as your ideas evolve.
Year 12–13: Move faster to support imminent decisions.

As a guide, students who can commit regular study periods during and after school may complete the course in approximately 4-6 weeks. As you reflect on what you learn throughout the course, you may wish to spend further time discussing your thoughts with your parent/guardian and/or school university counsellor.

You will have access to the online course for a duration of 12 weeks

SHEENA MEHTA, Director

With over 16 years of experience in international education, Sheena has held senior roles as a Director at IE University in Madrid and London, serving on the Council of International Schools’ CEMA Committee, and as a senior leader in the India-based IC3 movement.

While she spent over 10 years travelling the world, meeting students who were looking to study in Spain for their university education, her primary focus now is to support UK-based students in considering and exploring international university options around the world to find their "best fit."

At The University Guys, she leads international university partnerships, drawing on her global network and multilingual background (Spanish and Gujarati). Her role includes taking international universities to visit UK schools and ensuring that international universities are well aware of the talent that the UK has to offer, from academically strong, well-rounded students, who would be a great asset to international university student communities.
